An Uneventful Week

Not a lot to report, Cole and I went shopping last weekend and we hired a kiddi car at the mall. Brilliant things these cars, $4.50 for an hour and a half and it keeps Cole quiet the whole time! So we managed to get lots of jobs done, picked up some wool blankets for the beds now the weather is getting colder, and of course had to have a doughnut.

Back at home Cole made a bridge out of pegs by connecting them all together, he spent ages and ages getting it just right, and it always impresses me that he can concentrate on anything for that long.

Today we went to the Takapuna Markets to check out the fresh fruit and veg. They also have stalls selling other foods, bric-a-brac, clothes, plants, etc - the usual market stuff. Looks like it will become a regular Sunday morning trip to buy the weeks fruit and veg as it was so cheap.

Cole scored a Ben 10 watch just like the other kids at daycare, but when we got home we found the wrist strap was missing and after half an hour the plastic discs that go on the top had broken. That's what you get for $4 I guess, and to be honest any toys Cole's had from the markets have been rubbish. We should just have spent an extra $10 and got the real thing from the mall across the road!

I had to get a new charger for my phone today as the old one wasn't working properly(8 days out of warranty!). So while I sorted that out Jo and Cole played with the demo phones in the shop, and Cole pretended his was a walkie talkie.

And finally, Cole has been dry at night for a few months now, but the past week has gone to bed without a pull up on. So just to show him how proud we are of what a big boy he is becoming, we treated him to 'Mack', the truck from Lightning McQueen (it opens up to reveal Lightning's home away from home). He's been after it for ages, so was stoked, and reminds us all the time now that he is a 'bigger boy'. Don't we know it - not long until he's 4!
