Swimming, Picnics and Dog Napping
The first of our eleven monarch butterflies hatched this week, and since we've had 5 more. They're very beautiful, and Cole seems very glad they are no longer crawly caterpillars!
We went to Cornwall Park at One Tree Hill for a catch up with ex London Air NZ hostees on Sunday. The weather was amazing, there was musical entertainment, and Cole had a great time with the other kids. Except he wasn't keen on sharing his Nemo ball (Nemo is the latest and greatest discovery for him!) and everytime he got his hands on it he would sit on it so no one else could get it.
Last Monday we did get for that swim with Mitch, Milly and Claudia at Mike's parents place in Pukekohe (Mike is Mitch's other half). The kids had a wee swim in the pool before we all got into the spa. It was still a little cool at that stage, and it wasn't until the afternoon that the sun really came out and heated things up. But what a great time the kids had watching the digger working down the back of the garden, and running around inside and out.
Mike's parents have an old dog, Tasha, that Cole took quite a shine to - he tried to coax her into the car with promises of showing her his toys when she got to his house.
We're off to visit Aunty Jo and Ian at Jo's parents batch in Whangamata this weekend, so fingers crossed for fine weather! We might even take the tent...maybe the boys can sleep outside for an adventure...
