Glenbrook and More.
We went on the ferry to Rangitoto Island on Sunday. We left from Devonport and it only took 10-15 mins to get there. Cole loved being on the boat and watched everything happening out the window the whole way over. The climb was a little taxing with a 2 year old, he did walk part of the way now and again, but wanted to be carried a lot too. So a one hour walk took about 1 hour 45 mins. But we made it, and it was much much faster going down again!
Cole still tells people about his trip to see the steam trains a couple of weekends ago. He had a photo infront of Thomas and we rode on 'Terry', Thomas' NZ steam train cousin. Cole kept trying to stick his head out the window! He has been playing heaps with his Thomas train set, and just recieved a new addition from Grandma - the Sodor Fire Crew, which he has been taking to bed with him at night. At Grandma and Grandad's house now there is a Thomas play tent which Cole loves. He had fun hiding in there with Grandad on Saturday.
On a recent trip to Abi and Gator's house Cole fell over and bumped his head, luckily Abi had an eye mask in the freezer and Cole thought it was so cool he even wore it riding his bike. After his friend Maia's second birthday last weekend at Chipmunks we went back to the Northcote Tavern with everyone for drinks and nibbles and Gator was there with his rotary. Wasn't long before Cole was buckled in and off for a spin round the block, to the petrol station, and back. Gator lent us a video of the drag races - a 3 hour video - and Cole wants to watch it every morning. He seems to be especially impressed with Gator's burn out. Ah, is this a sign of things to come...
And on the subject of bikes, a couple of weeks ago we had a lovely picnic at the beach with Jo and Ian and Ted, and Ian gave Cole a ride on his bike (they live 5 mins walk from the beach).
Think that about covers it for the past few weeks...more next week :)
