Back on Track!

Assignments over with for the semester means a few weeks off, yay! My resolution for next semester is not to leave assignments til the last minute...yeah, I don't see that one sticking either!
We took Cole to the zoo in the weekend and saw the new cheetahs, gorgeous animals, shame they don't have more space for running though. And there is a new tiger enclosure for the male tiger arriving from Tel Aviv in November. Nisha, the tiger who died recently, her sister is coming up from Hamilton zoo in October so that they can try and add some cubs to the dwindling Sumatran tiger population.
The macaw took a liking to Cole and kept saying 'hello' and followed him all along the cage, pretty funny. We also saw Cole's current favourites, the monkeys, and were around at the right time to hear the gibbons doing their morning call.
Also the other week Scott took Cole to MOTAT where they went for a ride on the steam train. Cole is really into trains, diggers, buses, anything with wheels - and recently he has discovered The Wiggles which he really enjoys.
Macy is as crazy as ever, I've added a photo of her basking in front of the fire.
Cole's stringing 3-4 words together these days, amazing how his language is growing so fast. And he's into naming colours, although everything is blue or yellow!
He had a bout of croup a couple of weeks ago, (a viral infection, an inflammation of the larynx) so no more swimming this winter. Next term we're going to look at Jumping Beans which should be lots of fun. We're off to a trial session next Monday to see if he likes it.
Will keep you posted...
