Enjoying the Sunshine
We got to the zoo last week, were actually too early for the giraffes, as it turned out, but made the Kid's Zone encounter and got to pat Cole's favourite, the chickens - and guinea pigs, and we watched the rats getting morning tea. There was also some workmen putting new concrete down, so the highlight of the day for Cole seemed to be the cement truck!
He's just mastered riding his trike, he can get on and off on his own, and can move himself forward without catapulting the whole bike, now all he needs to do is steer...
We went to Soljan's (out West on the way to Kumeu) for brunch with Grandma and Grandad on Sunday. A great place for kids to play, cole was right into the ring toss, petangue (spelling?!), and running across the wide open grass area, but when he discovered some puddles nothing else mattered! He splashed away merrily, wetting himself through, and giving his toy jeep a wash too. He had a platter from the kids menu with mini things, and was quite intent on eating the hotdog stick dipped in tomato sauce rather than the actual hotdog.
This morning we arrived at Mission Bay about 8.30am, in time for a Burger King breakfast on the beach, paddle in the water and mad dashing across the playground to make sure we covered all 4 slides atleast 10 times over!
Then after a visit to see Uncle Glenn at his place to turn the stereo volume up and rearrange the coasters, it was home to bed.
Have a good week :)

Hi Bex,
Nice work on the Blog. They are great fun eh? Got homesick then when I saw you two on the beach and Rangitoto in the distance.
Settling into Sydney OK, but finding it tricky to locate a property that is suitable for Jarvis. Never mind, we'll get there.
Once our PC arrives and we have a fulltime home, I'll check into your site more often and add a link on mine.
All the best,
Lee :o)
